What to expect

Traditionally considered “a cradle of revolution”, France preserved plenty of historic sites dating back to the troubled times when French society underwent an epic transformation. The French Revolution Walking Tour of Paris offers to relieve the events that changed the course of world history and made a great contribution to what contemporary European society transformed into through years! As you see over the famous Place de la Concorde, Assemblée Nationale and other unique revolutionary sites, your guide will bring French history back to life with interesting facts and captivating stories about the storming of the Bastille, the capture of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, the Reign of Terror and many others.

On your tour, you will see the buildings and sites where many prominent historic events took place. One of them is Place de la Concorde famous for being the place where the French monarch Louis XVI, and later his wife, Queen Marie Antoinette, were executed at the guillotine. Your guide will give you a thorough historic insight on the background which led to this execution.

Another Parisian sight on your list is the Hotel des Invalides (The National Residence of the Invalids), a complex of buildings containing museums and monuments all relating to the military history of France. Also worth mentioning is the fact that this is the burial site for Napoleon, whose tomb is circled by a crown of laurels and inscriptions of the great victories of the Empire.

You will also pay a visit to Assemblée Nationale, which currently houses the French National Assembly. Its building was constructed in 1728 for the daughter of Louise XIV duchess Burbon who gave the palace the same name. Take your chance to meet a French deputy and learn about traditions started by the first National Assembly during the Revolution.

Soak in the atmosphere of revolutionary Paris and experience a different side to the city on this informative guided walk!
