The Colosseum is considered the symbol of Rome and for many reasons. It is a masterpiece of architecture and technology and a place where entertainment has been linked to business and politics since ancient times.

Visit the gladiator arena with us and learn more about Roman history, the life of emperors and gladiators.

Exclusive tickets allow you to enter the Colosseum through the gladiator entrance to admire the masterpiece from a unique perspective. On this tour you will learn more about the unique construction, the ingenious technology and the sophisticated craft. You will also be told secrets and exciting stories of the gladiators and emperors, and you will also learn about the role women played during this time.

The guided tour in the Colosseum takes about 1.5 hours. Afterwards you have half an hour to look around yourself in the amphitheater and then you will be accompanied to the Roman Forum, where you can also visit the Palatine Hill.

(However, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill are not guided, but can be explored on your own.)

What to remember
  • Due to the increased controls, there may be waiting times at the security check
  • No knives, scissors or other sharp objects, glass bottles or spray cans may be taken
  • Bring enough to drink in the summer (you can then refill the water at many drinking water wells)
  • Carry copies of ID with you
  • Tickets are provided by the German Roman woman, but are not included in the price. The amount must be paid to the guide in cash at the start of the tour. Admission ticket prices: from 18 years € 25, up to and including 17 years € 15
