What to expect

Explore a secret, subterranean world beneath the streets of Rome on a guided walking tour: experience the city from the days of the Roman Empire at sites such as the Pantheon, Vicus Caprarius and the Stadium of Domitian beneath Piazza Navona.

Your tour begins at Piazza Navona, built over the site of the Stadium of Domitian. You'll hear about the piazza's original use, before descending to the most important stadium of the Roman Republic, commissioned by Emperor Titus Flavius Domitianus. Back on street level, you'll stroll over to the Pantheon, the temple to all the gods of Rome, where you'll discover the original street level of the city at the ruins of Hadrian's Temple.

At the end of the experience, you'll be taken to the Trevi Fountain and the Vicus Caprarius, which emerged during the renovation of the Trevi Cinema.

Learn how, in ancient times, this area was a swamp, before the Virgo aqueduct was built: the aqueduct still supplies the fountains of Rome’s historic center, including the Trevi Fountain.

See Rome from a different perspective and discover the underground secrets of the Eternal City.
